September Newsletter

Hello again, Flower Friends,

Besides September being the best month in the year, there’s a LOT going on right now. Thought it a good idea to let you in on all of it.

For the next two Fridays, I will be joining the vintage and art folks, Tears of Venus, at Odd Fellows Hall from 9am – 2pm.  While shopping for the perfect vintage outfit or local piece of art, you can have your cards read and pick up your Petal Pushers flowers!  Sounds like fun!

Another spot to pick up flowers is this coming Tuesday, September 23 from 8:30am – noon at Soap and Supply. I love shopping there for refills on laundry soap, shampoo, hand soap, and the occasional household item I didn’t know I needed. Delightful smells emanate from every corner, the owner knows where all the products come from, and I know that I’m reducing my use of plastic. Awesome!

Just like purchasing flowers from local growers. The amount of packaging required to ship flowers from overseas–and even domestically–to the grocery store is mind boggling! When you buy local flowers, you eliminate all that while purchasing gorgeous, premium flowers from local growers–what’s not to love?!?

And a reminder:  sign up here for the Floral Design 101 Workshop I’m offering this Sunday, September 21.  There are only two spots left.  You’ll go home with a beautiful bouquet and new skills for unleashing your floral creativity!

If I can do it, you can, too!
I got a little carried away harvesting flowers the other day. So, I figured I’d practice making a REALLY BIG arrangement.

Here’s the result.

It’s pretty heavy, especially filled with water and flowers. But I love playing with flowers. All of these are from my gardens: many dahlias, sunflowers, snapdragons, zinnias, cosmos and goldenrod.
